not finished- abandoned

Yeah so thats another picasso kinda quote.
Up top is another of those 15 minute thingy's. The others are from a life drawing session. The girl is the elven strumpet/animation student some of you might remember from a while back. I gave her face an extreme makeover while i was at it.I gave her surroundings an extreme makeover too- so now she's sort of Titania elven strumpet waking up with her guard fairies on the case
Also I thought I'd noted down enough to remember how to shade them- but obviously I didn't.
Hopefully some more soon, and better.

still waiting

waiting

for 12 minutes while i dabbled this

40 mins of spiky silliness

ok i'll stop with the spikes-

Seemed a good idea at the time

If time taken is proportional to good ideaness, then you get what you deserve in a 30 minute sketcheroo. Take this 30 minute fashion victim for example, and remember- practice makes pervert.

Ugly is easy

15 minutes and presto- an ugly spiky monster.
Still its better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick, even if the drawing isn't as tight as a nun's nasty.
I love australian turn of phrases.
But again hunter,- if you're out there, -its got spikes so its gotta be good.

shiny shiny

the old 15 minute sketcheroo,
this ws originally just a girly with a funky horn helmet, fiv eminute later it was a protest against people easily impressed by shiny(highly rendered) things

A halfway coloured scribble and some life drawings. Not sure whether to go cartoony (and put linework back over it once I clean it up) or make it completely painted. But then I don't want to spend too much time on what was originally a 5 min scribble. Mental note to turn dog-monster's right hind leg out.not sure what to do about horndudes legs-or whether they'd be blocked out by dogmonster.
The life drawings are of 'a model called Carmen-out of curiousity I put them all into a file in photoshop to see if they all lined up- considering they are 3 view of roughly the same pose- and they kind of do. So either I am consistently wrong or consistently right. I didn't shade them- which is bad, but they are sort of nice even still.
Maybe I need to buy painter.

Two more life drawings. Theres another but I haven't stitched it together yet(drawings are a3 sized on a2). Probably about 35 minutes each- I got there late and they do a lot of talking in between poses there. Why did I change him into the horned god and a minotaur- because he had long hair and I couldn't see his face through it - so I figured might as well have fun. On the minotaur version I pumped up his arms and shoulders a fair bit from what was actually there to try and accomodate the big head. Yes his axe is bent and stuff....sheesh.
Apparently I missed the sculptors society halloween bash, and their nude go-go girls (in boots).
Well that's the story of my career right there folks- at least thats the way day job work would like it to be for me.
Fortunately they are wrong, (not yet but soon).

fun packed 20 mins

Theres a bit of a poem called 'voyage to cythera' i like- in it theres a bit about a hanged body with this creature prowling around the base. Not brilliant but 20 minutes,
nice and cheery too.
i should add that although i liked the poem, i myself am not riddled with disease- especially that sort.

The post with no name....

Things are a bit darker this week.
The guy with gun looks a bit like the guy sitting at the campfire in 'twas brillig- oh well.
Still he represents a 'big shot' waiting for his 'big shot' to happen- as for the monsters- well why not?
Which reminds me for a lost world there hasn't been any dinosaurs for a few months so i'll fix that soon.
I quite like the girly with the halberd thing,- its a bit unfinished mainly because I like it and it gets nerve wracking as i work on it incase i mess it up which i'm prone to do- after all it only takes a little slip on her nose or one eye and the whole thing is trashed.
The devil thing behind her is filling the space mainly- next round of drawings i'll actually'design' things like creatures and costumes and then draw them- instead of dressing up nudey people as i often do when just straight ahead drawing.
The monster below her is a sort of grab bag of lach cliches.
Below that is another harpy- the trouble with winged things is to get them in any sort of full stretch pose i need a big page. I liked the spines and the twisty neck. Hunter if hes out there will know spines and spikes are a necessity,

Lastly

And another thing.... progresswise

Further progress of the work in progress

A story of sorts,- the framing/composition of the images isn't crash hot in cases-I plan to redraw them in portrait orientation, ink them and colour them so they are nicey nicey.
Still there are some nice lines there I thought, and it was done under duress- I have been busy with work(the radium stuff) and our son has been in hospital for a week(and so were we taking care of him).
Progress ahoy.

Work in progress.

I seriously need to get my lightbox fixed.
The smart thing to do would be to take the charming thumnails- blow them up trace them off and clean them up. The not smart thing is to do what I did- some things got better other things got worse. More to come.
