Return of the z-brush virgin

4 years later- lets start learning again now I haven't got any official books to do.

Book finished, hopefully it looks ok.
I kind of wanted all natural wooden boards- but added colour in the last week. I think it make the boards racier and therefore more appealing, but I sort of like the whole animals being in nature thing.

Anyway- back to revisit resolves of last July-Sept.

I think I've been quite burned by the whole Little Mates thing-and lost the dream as far as kids books go the last 3 or 4 months.
Told myself I wasn't but I guess I was.
- kind of fell of the planet-stopped going to various meetings like SCBWI, Book Links etc....
Hadn't kept up with emails properly either......sorry people....sigh

Brushpen idling

Seems not enough time for real work in the madness,- a collection of out of hours just before bed  brush scribblins.

See how I'm keeping it real by not editing out all the little not so good bits ?

Well a perfect storm it seems- wife's mother in hospital this time, flooding rain , childcarer on holiday.....
not good for getting work done......needed the rain though- not being able to get stuff done..well.

Issues

Issues with hand eye coordination.
Issues with wasted mouse pushing arm holding charcoal above shoulder height for any length of time- and going "stop it hurts let me go I don't want to do this line"..
Issues with drawing nice lines at waist height.
Issues with knowing where the exact point of the charcoal was- until after you've put the mark down 3mm out (like on the face).
Sigh.

This weeks bad life drawing day....

Might have to revert to pencil for a bit until things improve.
Or actually pay attention and look at what I'm drawing- yes that could work.....

skull wasn't a skull but an exercise ball-
but I'd kinda mangled the face (it was hidden in a mess of hair) and mangled the body (yeah.....it was in plain sight   :(  ).
So I drew a sorta skull instead.
